In her first appearance following a momentous vote in the House establishing procedures for the next phase of the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had a resounding message for Democrats: "We will win."

Pelosi was a guest on "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert on October 31, and while on the show, she said she foresees a Democratic victory in 2020.

In response to Pelosi's prediction, a flabbergasted Colbert made the sign of the cross "to take the hex off" of it.

"Do you want to say that on Hillary's fireworks barge that she cancelled?" Colbert joked, in reference to the 2016 presidential election. "I feel like I should sacrifice a goat or something to take the hex off of what you just said."
