The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has taken up the responsibility of to bring together the estranged partners BJP and Shiv Sena. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had a talk with Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray in this regard. Bhagwat is also likely to talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when he returns from his foreign visit on Thursday.

RSS is reportedly unhappy with the BJP for taking the support of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) as most of its leaders are tainted and face various corruption allegations.

Bhagwat's initiative comes after Shiv Sena's claim for the post of leader of opposition in the Assembly was upheld following failure of talks between the BJP and Shiv Sena.

Both the parties have not yet lost the hope of patch up even though Shiv Sena voted against the trust vote of the Devendra Fadnavis-led BJP government in Maharashtra. RSS has also asked them to forget their differences and work together as they share a common ideology.
