Earlier this year, Maven paid $45 million for the rights to Sports Illustrated. Heckman said his goal is to double Sports Illustrated's revenue to $40 million and traffic to 30 million unique users by the end of 2020.

Maven is using an SEC-filed investor presentation to share their plan for growing traffic and revenue from online media, including Sports Illustrated.

Using this investor deck, Maven raised $20 million through the investment firm B Riley Financial.
