Sunil Mittal replaces Terry McGraw to become the new chairman of ICC

Bharti Enterprises' founder and chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal is the new chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). ICC, world's largest business organisation, has over 6.5 million members in over 130 countries and Mittal has been selected as its 51st chairman, being only the third Indian to hold the position.
Mittal has earlier been a part of the Prime Minister of India's Council on Trade and Industry.

He also stressed on the need to restore trade and investment as a driver of growth and jobs, especially in developing economies that were affected by the slowdown in raw materials and agricultural commodities markets. "This will be a central focus for my tenure as Chairman of the world business organization," he added.

Bharti Enterprises, which holds interests in several sectors like insurance, real estate, hospitality, agri and food, also owns Bharti Airtel, world's third largest telecommunications company that has over 350 million customers across India, South Asia and Africa.
