Netflix has been doing some housecleaning in the last two weeks, cutting two high-profile shows: "Sense8" and "The Get Down."

The edgy and expansive sci-fi show "Sense8" was the more recent of the pair, which Netflix canceled on Thursday after two seasons.

Created by Lana Wachowski and Lilly Wachowski (of the "The Matrix" fame) along with J. Michael Straczynski ("Thor"), "Sense8" revolved around a small cluster of individuals from all over the world who share a mental connection that allows them to tap into one another's thoughts and skills, and basically experience life together as well as survive being hunted down by a mysterious organization.

"It is everything we and the fans dreamed it would be: bold, emotional, stunning, kickass, and outright unforgettable," Content VP Cindy Holland told Variety in a statement. "We've canceled very few shows," Hastings said at the Code Conference this week. "I'm always pushing the content team. We have to take more risk. You have to try more crazy things. Because we should have a higher cancel rate overall."

Here are the six shows Netflix has killed, along with their critic and audience ratings from Metacritic:
