The next Tesla Roadster will be 'different, faster and bigger'
Tesla Motors
IDG reports that last week during a presentation at an electronics show in Gothenburg, Sweden, Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen, Tesla's Director of Nordic Sales said "We would have loved to build more, but if no one other than you would be listening right now, then I'd probably tell you that we will manufacture it again. It will look a little different, a little faster and a little bigger."
Bigger, yet faster? Nothing wrong with that.
Unlike the first Roadster which was built off of a Lotus platform, the next Roadster will likely be built on Tesla's own platform, specifically the same third-generation platform that the Model 3 is being built on.
Hopefully it'll share a similar price structuring to the Model 3 as well.
The launch of a new Roadster is expected to come in 2019. You know, after Tesla gets it production capabilities to where it has to be and after it finally delivers all those Model 3 orders.
