A flight attendant on one of United Airlines' regional carriers, Trans States Airlines, was reportedly "drunk or stoned" on a recent flight, according to ABC affiliate WDAY.

The incident occurred on a United flight operated by Trans States from Denver to Williston, North Dakota, on Thursday.

Twitter user Erika Gorman wrote that the flight attendant was "drunk and disorderly" and "belligerent."

"Boarding announcements were 'if your seatbelt isn't tight, you F*%ed up,'" Gorman wrote.

Gorman also wrote that she went to the cockpit to speak to the captain. Police were present when the flight landed, she wrote.

A Trans States Airlines spokesperson told Business Insider the airline "is aware of reports of erratic behavior by a flight attendant on flight #4689 from Denver to Williston." The spokesperson also said the flight attendant is not working on Trans States flights while the airline investigates the incident.

A United Airlines spokesperson told Business Insider it is also aware of the incident. The spokesperson said the airline compensated all of the passengers on the flight "as a gesture of goodwill."

"We apologize for any inconvenience or distress this may have caused," the spokesperson said.
