Sheila Dikshit is Congress’ Chief Minister candidate for UP polls 2017

The Congress party named former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit as its chief ministerial candidate for Uttar Pradesh assembly slated in 2017.
Dikshit, 78, was three time chief minister of Delhi and will help Congress in building the Brahmin votebank in UP.
“I want to thank Congress high command for the responsibility. It is a huge challenge in front of us and we will fight with all the courage and determination. We will fight with the hope of winning,” said Dikshit.
Apart from Dikshit leading the Congress campaign in UP, Priyanka Gandhi, daughter of Congress chiefSonia Gandhi , will also extensively campaign in the state.
“I would be happy ifPriyanka Gandhi campaigns in UP,” said Dikshit, who is facing alleged corruption charges and was allegedly summoned by ACB.
Dikshit is the daughter-in-law of UP Congress leader Uma Shankar Dikshit, who was a Brahmin face and had served as a Union minister and governor for a long time.
