"As businesses race to capitalise on the opportunities of the new mobile economy, there is intense competition for skilled Android and iOS developers. The truth, however, is that the mobile talent pool in India is still in its very early stages. To help companies better understand the dynamics of this pool and craft effective hiring strategies, we conducted the India Mobile Talent Landscape Report 2016," said Vijay Sharma, CEO of Belong.
Talking of the institutes from where these developers learn the science behind OS development, regional universities like Visvesvaraya Technological University (8.97%) and Anna University (7.88%) have a higher number of mobile developers than prestigious institutes like IIT Delhi (2.79%) and IIT Kharagpur (2.67%). BITS Pilani, however, leads the race by producing 10.5% of mobile talent in India.

Majority of these developers are hired by IT services and computer software sectors, which are much ahead of Internet and e-commerce sectors, who appear on the third and fifth place despite offering more attractive salaries.
