In a statement CRS said that the aim of this collaborative effort is to explore opportunities to establish robust voluntary renewable energy options that will allow individuals and businesses to buy credible and impactful renewable energy.
CRS Executive Director Jennifer Martin said "For 20 years CRS has been assisting policy makers and market participants around the world to support the development of clean energy,"
"We are excited to collaborate with Google to build an inclusive coalition of stakeholders to advance voluntary renewable energy markets and procurement options in the region," he said.

"Ensuring that renewable energy is credibly measured and verified is core to creating robust markets that unlock voluntary demand. We are thrilled to work with CRS to begin establishing new opportunities for customers to purchase renewables not only in Taiwan, but throughout Asia."
