- LaVar Ball's apparel company Big Baller Brand tweeted an animation of LaVar dunking on US President Donald Trump.
- The tweet seems to be reigniting a fued that originated over the arrest of LaVar's son LiAngelo and two other UCLA basketball players for shoplifting in China.
LaVar Ball seemed to escalate his feud with US President Donald Trump on Thursday.
Ball's Big Baller Brand posted a tweet, seemingly out of the blue, that featured an animated gif of Ball dunking on Trump.
The tweet read "#thetrumpdunk" and "#stayinyolane" and tagged Trump. "#stayinyolane" is a reference to a contentious interview Ball had on Fox Sports 1 when he told Kristine Leahy to stay in her lane for questioning the sales of Lonzo Ball's custom sneakers.
Here's the tweet:
The feud dates back to when Ball's son LiAngelo and two other UCLA basketball players were arrested in China for shoplifting. While being held at the team's hotel and being questioned by Chinese police, Trump reportedly asked Chinese president Xi Jinping to get involved in the case. When China released the players, Trump tweeted that he wanted a thank you from the players.
LaVar later shot back, saying Trump did not help LiAngelo get released. Trump responded that he "should have left them in jail," prompting an off-the-rails CNN interview with LaVar during which he doubled down on his stance that Trump did not deserve any credit.
Since then, however, the feud seems to have calmed down. With LaVar seemingly reigniting it, however, it may prompt a second life.
