As per the latest data from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Maruti’s Alto remained the top selling car in the country, along with compact sedan Dzire coming second and compact car Wagon R claiming the third spot, stepping one place as compared to last July.
The fourth place was grabbed by premium hatchback Swift, which slipped down one position from July last year.

The list saw the entry of MSIL’s top rival Hyundai, with hatchback Grand i10 at the fifth position, and Maruti’s recently launched compact SUV Vitara Brezza zoomed its way into the list at the sixth position. Hyundai's premium hatchback Elite i20 claimed the seventh position, and French carmaker Renault's entry-level model Kwid took the eighth spot.
The last two names in the list again belong to Maruti Suzuki, with premium hatchback Baleno at the ninth spot and Omni at the final position.
While the list from last July had Hyundai Creta, Honda Jazz, and Maruti Suzuki Celerio in it, this time around, these cars couldn’t find a spot in the list.
