Pay more for petrol and diesel from midnight today

The aam aadmi will shell out more for fuelling his cars every time he goes to a petrol pump from today. The government has hiked the petrol by Rs 3.07 a litre, while diesel rates went up by Rs 1.90 per litre. The hike has reversed the three-month trend of declining prices.

From today, petrol in the national capital will cost Rs 59.68 per litre from mid-night over the current price at Rs 56.61. Diesel will cost Rs 48.33 per litre as compared to Rs 46.43 a litre at present.

While, petrol has been an exception to price hikes, diesel prices have been increased for the third time consecutively. It must be noted that the petrol price was slashed by Rs 3.02 on March 1, however, the latest price hike has negated the impact.
