Some Nissan owners can now control their cars with Amazon's Alexa

Alexa can now remotely control all vehicles made between 2016 and 2018 that come with NissanConnected Services. Starting later this month, Nissan owners can use their Amazon Alexa to remotely start the car, unlock and lock the doors, flash the lights, and honk the horn.
The announcement comes a week after Amazon said it would add Alexa to all BMW vehicles and some MINI cars starting in 2018. Alexa will be able to display weather graphics on cars' display screens and help with other commands, like opening the garage door.
Ford has also added Alexa to cars equipped with its SYNC3 infotainment system.
Although Alexa isn't integrated in Nissan vehicles the same way it is for BMW and Ford, the move highlights how Amazon is continuing to work with a wide array of automakers to introduce it services.
Tech giants are making a big push into the automotive space as car data is predicted to become a $750 million industry by 2030. Apple and Google have already gotten a slice of the pie through their respective CarPlay and Android Auto systems. Amazon may not be too far behind if it can launch Alexa in more vehicles.
