1. Airbnb is fighting a critical war in its own back yard this week. Cities like Paris and Amsterdam have welcomed Airbnb with open arms, but its home city of San Francisco has been more problematic.

2. A third person has been held over TalkTalk security breach. Police have also arrested and bailed a 16-year-old boy from west London and a 15-year-old boy in Northern Ireland.

3. Vodafone customers' bank details were "accessed in hack," the company says. The thieves may have taken the personal details of up to 2,000 mobile phone customers, Vodafone said days after the TalkTalk scandal.

4. Big changes are coming to Microsoft Outlook for iPhone. The iOS app is getting a fresh new look, courtesy of the talent Microsoft snapped up in its acquisition of calendar app Sunrise.

5. Richard Branson's Virgin Media is launching its own version of Y-Combinator in London. The new technology accelerator in London that will be "powered" by TechStars.

6. Instagram is launching curated content streams for events, Re/code reports. The photo app created a Snapchat-style curated feed for Halloween.

7. The teenager who sold his app to Yahoo for $30 million has left the company to focus on his Oxford degree. Summly founder Nick D'Aloisio has left Yahoo just two years after joining.

8. Jeremy Clarkson is making adverts for Amazon. Amazon is looking to harness Jeremy Clarkson's fame in an advert for the Fire TV stick, an accessory that allows wireless media streaming to a TV.

9. Startups from every continent are heading for the Web Summit. Entrepreneurs from more than 100 countries will arrive in Ireland to take part in the final summit to be held in Dublin before it relocates to Lisbon next year.
