2 Virginia television journalists fatally shot in on-air attack

Two television journalists were shot and killed in Virginia on Wednesday morning while conducting a live television interview, their station, WDBJ7 said.
The incident occurred during a live broadcast in Bedford County, when shots could be heard, sending the reporter and her source screaming and ducking for cover.
The station said that journalists Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, 27, died in the incident, which occurred around 6:45.
The two were reporting from the Bridgewater Plaza shopping mall near Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta, Virginia.
The video appeared to show the gunman before the feed cut.

Schools in the surrounding area have been placed on perimeter lockdown until further notice, WSLS10 reports citing the Bedford County School's superintendent. Police are still searching for the gunman throughout the surrounding area.
