Flipkart looking to hire engineers at middle level

Last year, online marketplace Flipkart saw a number of senior level employees leaving, and now, it’s looking to hire more talent in its middle-level engineering team in three core areas: mobile experience, cloud infrastructure and personalisation.
After Tiger Global'sKalyan Krishnamurthy took over as the CEO, around six senior vice-presidents and directors have left Flipkart, resulting in the return of old hands to handle key operations.

As of now, Flipkart is hiring engineers who have two to five years of experience; it would also hire contract workers for its captive logistics unitEkart .
"Engineering will drive our innovation edge. The assumption is thatecommerce industry is driven by capital, but it is (actually) driven by innovation. We are proud to have a truly world-class engineering function which is a source of innovation. The first investment is to grow that," Flipkart COO Nitin Seth told ET.
"We will strengthen the two to five-year experience layer, with cutting-edge expertise. They will come from both India and overseas as well," he added. He also said that the lay-offs in 2016 were done to improve speed and efficiency of the team and not as a measure of cost-cutting.
