A self-described comedy group has been linked to racist signs on Yale University's campus

Racist signs were found on Yale University's campus on Tuesday night, The Yale Daily News reported.

The signs had messages on the front side that said "All Lives Matter" and "No More Dead Black Children."

But the back side of the signs had messages that referred to black criminality, violence, and rape, according to the YDN.

"The words were strong and scary enough that the students who saw it were shaken and scared," Afro-American Cultural Center director Rise Nelson Burrow told the YDN. "It's bad that something like this would happen at a time when students are already so fragile."

Yale's campus police are investigating the incident and have not commented on whether they have any leads.

A comedy group on campus called "Million Dollar Extreme," however, posted a picture of two men holding what appear to be the signs in question, according to the YDN.

The group removed the picture from its Facebook page, but the original post still remains.The comedy group does not appear to have any affiliation with the university, nor are any members of the group students at Yale.The Ivy League school has experienced high levels of tension over the past few weeks that have exposed feelings that Yale is an unwelcoming place for students of color and that pervasive racism exists at Yale.We reached out to the group via Facebook and will update this post if we hear back.
