A two-year-old girl threw an adorable tea party for the cop who saved her life
A Texas toddler and a local police officer sat down for tea last week to celebrate a very special anniversary, ABC News reports.
Last July, 2-year-old Bexley was at home with her mother and siblings when she started to choke on a coin. It was a terrifying moment for the toddler's mother, Tammy Norvell.
"She went completely limp," Norvell told ABC News. "It was more than falling asleep. She just collapsed. I looked in her eyes and she was so distant."
Norvell called 911 and Officer Ray responded immediately - despite being on his lunch break. He arrived and used a finger sweep technique to remove the coin from Bexley's throat. The entire rescue, captured on Ray's body camera, took just 27 seconds.
Last week, as a gesture of gratitude, Bexley and Norvell invited Officer Ray over to their home for a tea party. Local photographer Chelle Cates caught their precious meetup on camera.
"It was something that I just couldn't turn down because I knew it was going to be really special for her mom and Bexley," Ray told ABC News. "I have two boys, so I don't get to do that type of stuff you do with a little girl. She's a sweetheart. She's my best friend."
