In the span of four hours, amateur athletes from the financial services industry will go head-to-head in a 400-meter run, football throw, pull-ups, 40-yard dash, dips, 500-meter row, vertical jump, 20-yard shuttle, bench press, and an 800-meter run.
The event raises money for pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and has raised over $6 million since it started in 2009.
Adam Katz, a private wealth adviser and vice president at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, is near the top of the fundraising charts with donations of over $21,000.
Katz has participated in the event for five years in a row from 2010-2014. This year, however, he claims that he is not just a participant, but a competitor.
"This year is a new beginning," he says. "I plan to COMPETE, and find my place on the podium."
