The number of domestic flight passengers surged 29% to around 67.45 lakhs in July, thanks to the huge discounts and the fall in fuel prices that made airfares affordable. IndiGo continued to dominate the market with 35.8% share. SpiceJet topped the charts in terms of passenger load factor - around 93.4%.
DGCA said that passenger load factor declined in July compared with June. Last month domestic carriers ferried 67.45 lakh passengers, a 29.3% leap compared with 52.16 lakh passengers from July last year.
