Amazon to create more than 1,500 jobs in France this year

Amazon is creating more than 1,500 "CDI" permanent contract jobs in France.

The increase brings the US company's total number of French staff to 5,500 from 4,000 this year.

France has been keen to reinforce its status as a major European business centre in the wake of the UK's Brexit vote, and given the forthcoming French presidential election.

But the company seems to be shrugging off Brexit, as it also announced on Monday that& it's planning to hire 5,000 additional staff across the UK.
