This week it was the turn of unconventional movies Roar and Super Nani trying their luck out at the Indian box office.

Directed by Indra Kumar, Super Nani has Rekha in the lead role. The movie raked in Rs 1.60 crore on the opening on Friday and went on to add Rs 1.55 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.7 crore on Sunday. For a movie of this budget, Super Nani has managed to get some good business thanks to the positive word of mouth publicity and it might be able to end up in the green.

Roar is a thriller movie, which managed an average opening of Rs 1.5 crore on Friday and earned Rs 1.42 crore and 1.8 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Even Roar seems to have hit the right chord with its target audience and is doing decent business.

On the other hand, Happy New Year continues its spectacular run at the box office, collecting Rs 8.6 crores on the second Sunday or 10th day of the film’s release. By the looks of it, Happy New Year is gunning to get its name etched in the Rs 300-crore club, but will it be able to enter the Rs 500-crore club or break the earning collection record set by Dhoom 3 is something that we will have to wait and see.
