Business Insider is looking for a curious, driven, inspiring person to lead analytics and data insights within the BI Studios group.

BI Studios works with marketers to develop robust, engaging sponsored content in a variety of formats (text, video, slideshow, and infographic) as part of their ad campaigns. The person in this role will grow traffic to that content, as well as help foster and strengthen audience engagement.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thinks strategically and proactively about how to drive traffic and engagement. As Data and Analytics Strategist, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Use data to understand better what our readers are doing and why, then parlay that information into informed and actionable insights as they relate to Studios content
  • Measure, report, and analyze key performance indicators across branded content at Business Insider
  • Help determine which metrics are critical for Studios content in terms of overall evaluation and measurement of success
  • Create benchmarks against editorial and Studios content that will inform future creation and execution
  • Provide regular analytics support and best practices to internal stakeholders, including the Studios, sales development, media planning, and ad sales teams
  • Optimize the social programming strategy across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social networks, with core emphasis on growing traffic and streams to sponsored content
  • Develop deals and maintain relationships with social and digital influencers, publishers, and platforms to drive additional content distribution
  • Evaluate new social/digital platforms, marketing services, ad products, and trends

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in digital analytics
  • Strong passion and deep understanding of all social media platforms
  • Proven track record driving click traffic and streams via paid digital and social marketing campaigns; deep knowledge of ad products across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Outbrain, Taboola, and others
  • Experience developing experiences that drive engagement in social space
  • Familiarity with content aggregators and destinations (such as Reddit and StumbleUpon) and digital analytics and tools (Omniture, Comscore, Google Analytics, and Facebook Insights)
  • Experience working with Parse.ly and SimpleReach
  • Thorough understanding of the relationships of social media and SEO to site traffic
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
