COVID-19: Coal India donates Rs 221cr to PM fund
Kolkata, Apr 24 () State-run Coal India Ltd onFriday said it has contributed Rs 221 crore to the PrimeMinister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in EmergencySituations Fund (PM Cares) to fight against the coronaviruspandemic.

Employees of CIL have voluntarily contributed oneday's salary, which amounted to Rs 61 crore, and the minerdonated an amount of Rs 160 crore from its corporate socialresponsibility corpus to the 'PM Cares Fund', a companyofficial said.

Despite several challenges during the ongoing crisisperiod, the subsidiaries of the Maharatna PSU have beenproducing coal, he said.
