Mustard seed futures climb on fresh bets

New Delhi, Mar 23 () Mustard seed prices on Monday rose by Rs 81 to Rs 4,040 per quintal in futures trade as participants widened their bets amid firm spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for delivery in April rose by Rs 81, or 2.05 per cent, to Rs 4,040 per quintal with an open interest of 15,730 lots.

Similarly, the delivery for May went up by Rs 33, or 0.84 per cent, to Rs 3,971 per quintal with an open interest of 15,490 lots.

Marketmen said apart from restricted arrivals from growing belts, demand from oil mills in spot market mainly lifted mustard seed prices here. VHP SHWSHW
