Steve Ballmer's Los Angeles Clippers took free agency to a new level recently as they attempted to convince Blake Griffin to re-sign and stay with the team.
After Griffin had a meeting with the team about his future, Clippers employees wore t-shirts likening Griffin to some historical "pioneers," according to Marc J. Spears of ESPN.
The image on the shirts shows Griffin, along with Muhammad Ali, President John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr, Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln, President Barack Obama, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, and even Michael Jackson.
The t-shirts have been heavily mocked on social media, but they apparently didn't hurt the Clippers. Griffin did re-sign with the team, inking a deal worth $175 million over five years shortly after the free agency period opened at midnight on Friday night
