Core Sector Growth In August Increases To 5.8%

With eight core sector industries growing by 5.8% as compared to 4.7% in the corresponding period last year, core sector growth in August increased to 5.8%. In July, the core sector data was 2.7%.Growth in the coal output was up 13.4% against 6.2% month-on-month. Crude output and natural gas output grew by 4.9 and 8.3%, respectively, as per the data of the Commerce and Industry Ministry. On the other hand, the cement output increased by only 10.3% against 16.5% in July.
