The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), as per the decision of conducting the first term exam in November-December, will be rolling out the time table on Monday (October 18) for both class 10 and 12.

Students can check the time table on the official website of CBSE.

CBSE, in July, decided to divide the academic session of class 10 and 12 this year by conducting two term-end exams rather than just one annual exam.

The exam will be conducted on a 50% syllabus for both class 10 and 12.

Sanyam Bhardwaj, who is the CBSE examination controller, said in a statement as per the Indian Express, “No candidate will be placed or put into the pass, compartment, and essential repeat categories after the first term. Furthermore, the final results will be announced only after the first and the second-term examinations are completed”

He further added that “Practical exams or internal assessment will be completed in schools before the first term exams are over. The marks allotted will be 50% of the total marks and mentioned in the syllabus.”

The first term exam will be of 90 minutes and will contain objective-type questions. The exam will commence at 11:30 a.m., instead of 10:30 a.m., due to winters.

According to media reports, second-term examinations will be held in March-April 2022. However, the format of the exam will be decided by the board later on considering the COVID-19 situation in the country.
