Los Angeles police are investigating an alleged battery incident in which Ye — the rapper formerly known as Kanye West — is a suspect, a spokesperson from the LAPD confirmed to Insider.

LAPD responded to reports of battery at 3 a.m. local time Thursday in Los Angeles, the LAPD spokesperson said. Ye is the "only one that has been alleged as a suspect" as of Thursday morning, the spokesperson told Insider.

Police said no arrests were made at the time and no other details are being released.

Fox 11, the Los Angeles Fox affiliate, reported that the incident occurred outside the exclusive Soho Warehouse club after a fan saw Ye sitting his car and asked for an autograph. According to Fox 11, the fan told officers that Ye then exited the car and then punched him before leaving, prior to officers' arrival. Fox 11 reported that the fan declined medical treatment.

A representative for Ye did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Page Six reported that Ye and "Uncut Gems" actor Julia Fox, who he met on New Year's Eve and began dating, were at Delilah, a West Hollywood supper club, earlier on Wednesday evening, along with Madonna, Floyd Mayweather, Evan Ross, and Antonio Brown.

The alleged incident comes a week after Variety reported that Ye, along with Billie Eilish, was set to headline the 2022 Coachella music festival. Ye is currently slated as the show's Sunday headliner, with Eilish headlining on Saturday and Harry Styles on Friday. The festival will take place over the weekends of April 15-17 and 22-24.
