Kim Kardashian said that Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, told her that her career was "over" after she wore an outfit that she styled herself to accept a Wall Street Journal Innovator award in 2021.
Kardashian said on the show's fifth episode, which aired Thursday, that Ye styled her for her appearance hosting "Saturday Night Live" in October 2021, but not for the Wall Street Journal Magazine Innovator Awards, which were held on November 1, 2021 in New York City. Kardashian won the Brand Innovator award for her work building her shapewear company, Skims, and wore a leather dress and gloves from the Skims x Fendi collection to accept it.
"I was like, 'how do I wear something that hasn't been pre-vetted first?'" Kardashian said of her anxiety over choosing her look for the event. She revealed that Ye called her after seeing what she wore without his input. "He told me my career's over, and then he showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar," she recalled.

"I would ask him for advice for everything, down to what I wear. Even now I'm having like, panic attacks, like, 'What do I wear?'" Kardashian said.
