Etihad raises $500 million to expand fleet

Etihad Airways has said today that it has raised $500 million with five equity partners for capital expenditure and fleet expansion among others.

The funds have been secured from road shows across Abu Dhabi, London and Dubai. The money has been raised from a special purpose vehicle, EA Partners IBV.

"The success of this transaction is a major endorsement of the shared vision and strategies of these businesses by the global financial community," James Hogan, President and CEO, Etihad Airways said.

Etihad Airways has already raised more than $11 billion from more than 80 financial institutions till today.
