Fox Business trash-talks CNBC ahead of next GOP debate
Fox Business
"CNBC never asked the real questions, never covered the real issues," the Fox ad's narrator declared in the video, flagged Monday by Mediaite.
"That's why on November 10, the real debate about our economy and our future is only on Fox Business Network!"
The Republican presidential candidates and the Republican National Committee widely complained that the CNBC debate was overly confrontational and not focused enough on financial news.
CNBC's spokesman argued that the next US president should be able to handle tough questions, but the blowback against the network was nevertheless deafening. The RNC even suspended an upcoming debate held by CNBC's sister network, NBC News, in response.
And it appears that Fox Business, a financial-news competitor of CNBC, is willing to embrace the controversy.
