Google reveals data requests from India up 10%

Google has revealed that requests from the Indian law enforcement agencies for data about users grew 10% in the first half of 2015 from the same period last year. Indian law agencies sent 3,087 requests from January to June of 2015. That’s up from 2,794 requests in the same six months in 2014. However, the number of users or accounts specified fell to 4,829 from 5,002.
The percentage of requests for which data was given also fell this year. Google provided some data for 44%, compared with 61% last year.
