Here comes a mobile app to enhance in-flight experience

Digital forces like Mobile, Social and Big Data analytics are creating tremendous possibilities for businesses globally. India’s leading IT consulting firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in collaboration Singapore Airlines (SIA) have introduced a tablet-based mobile application for cabin crew . Known as TCS CrewCollab Solution, the app will help automate and streamline in-flight processes for cabin crew.
The application leverages on SIA’s service excellence and TCS’ strength in digital technology development.
According to the official statement issued by TCS, SIA is the launch customer for its CrewCollab Solution application, which its cabin crew is now using it on board. During flight, the application enables crew to view information which traditionally has been in paper format, such as customer service lists, flight information and crew lists, digitally via tablets.
Additionally, cabin crew of SIA will also be able to create digital voyage reports for each flight. Besides, it can also enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of follow-up items across the many functional areas of the airline.
TCS further revealed that using the application, SIA crew will also be able to access digital versions of key documents like safety manuals, service procedures manuals, catering information, crew memos or alerts and crew-to-crew handover notes.
“We are very pleased to collaborate with our long-standing partner Tata Consultancy Services to develop TCS CrewCollab Solution. The application is vital to how we will continue to improve our operations and enhance our customer servicing on board.” said Marvin Tan, Singapore Airlines’ senior vice-president Cabin Crew.
