Hero Motocorp rises 2% after the new version of HF Dawn hit the street

Following the launch of a new version of HF Dawn, shares of Hero Motocorp gained 2% to reach Rs 2,799 in today’s morning trade. Priced at Rs 39,370, the two-wheeler is quite affordable in the Indian market.

A new version of HF Dawn is powered by a 97.2 cc engine and come in five colours – silver, red, maroon, black with purple and black with Red. The entry-level bike has undergone some changes in its exterior changes and a few additional features have also been added to it.

The world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer had sold more than 5.5 lakh units in January this year.

According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the sale of passenger vehicles is expected to increase by 3-5% in FY2014-15.

“Two-wheelers sales registered a growth of 9.97% in April-January 2015 over April-January 2014. Within the two-wheelers segment, scooters, motorcycles and mopeds grew by 27.42%, 4.34% and 6.38%, respectively in April-January 2015 over April-January 2014” SIAM, which represents 49 major vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in the country, said in its press release.
