Indore Coronavirus cases rise to 1,476, 65 dead and 177 recovered

Madhya Pradesh is one of the top states affected by the Coronavirus pandemic with 2,560 confirmed cases reported so far. Out of this, over 50% of the cases have been reported from Indore alone.

Out of the 2,560 cases reported so far in Madhya Pradesh, Indore has reported 1,476 cases. Of these, 65 patients have succumbed to the disease while 177 patients recovered.

Indore Chief Medical and Health Officer Praveen Jadia said on April 29 that the report of samples from 104 patients had come positive raising the total number of patients to 1,476 in the district. At the same time, the death of 3 patients has increased the toll to 63.

As per a health bulletin, Indore has 1,476 active Coronavirus patients, out of which 41 are critical and 1,193 are stable. Around 198 people have been quarantined in the city.

As many as 2,000 teams have been formed to conduct surveys with the cooperation of the Municipal Corporation and Administration.

Porsche rider made to do sit-ups for not wearing mask

A young man in Indore who took out his two-seater luxury car Porsche 718 Boxster for a spin amid the lockdown restrictions owing to the dreaded coronavirus outbreak had to face punishment as he was spotted without a mask.

With Indore becoming a major hotspot of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Madhya Pradesh, the authorities have prohibited anyone from stepping out of home without a face mask.

As a result, the yellow Porsche rider faced punishment as he was made to do sit-ups, a video of which has gone viral on social media.

MP doctor documenting Coronavirus tests gets infected

A doctor, working as a demonstrator in the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College's Physiology Department was found infected with coronavirus, college authorities said. He was on duty at the virology lab to document details related to Covid-19 samples testing.

The doctor had nothing to do with the testing or examination of the samples in the laboratory, they said.

The Dean said that the infected doctor has been admitted in the hospital and his condition is stable. The college employees and others in contact with him, have been isolated.

Two police officers succumb to Coronavirus

A police officer infected with Covid-19 has died in Indore's Sri Aurobindo Hospital on April 21, health officials said. He was undergoing treatment here for the last 12 days.

The police officer named Yashwant Pal was posted in Ujjain as station in-charge.

Indore's chief health and medical officer Praveen Jadia told IANS, "Yashwant Pal's report of a sample had come positive for coronavirus. He was being treated in this hospital but even after continued medical treatment his condition deteriorated, and we could not save him".

Earlier, Juni police station in-charge Devendra Kumar Chandravanshi had also died due to coronavirus. Health officials said Chandravanshi had tested positive, but his last report came negative.

"Chandravanshi was suffering from Covid-19. But surprisingly his last report came negative. He was recovering well, but suddenly last night he fell ill again and died, " Harinarayanchari Mishra, the DIG of Indore range, told IANS.
