Manipur minister flags commodity transportation issues during lockdown

Imphal, Apr 28 () Manipur Public Works MinisterThongam Biswajit Singh on Tuesday apprised Union MinisterNitin Gadkari about issues faced during transportation ofcommodities and implementation of highway development projectsin the landlocked state, owing to the ongoing lockdown.

During a video conference with Gadkari and ministersof other states, Singh highlighted hindrances in the movementof commodities in neighbouring states, an official releasesaid.

"The state is facing some issues regarding movement ofconstruction materials for highway projects and other non-essential commodities while passing through some neighbouringstates," Singh said.

He, however, said there is no such problem intransportation of goods within the state.
