No fresh COVID-19 cases for 2nd consecutive day in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, May 7 () In a major relief toKerala, which is expecting over 350 expatriates to arrive byspecial flights later Thursday, the health department said nofresh cases of COVID-19 were reported from the state for thesecond consecutive day.

Health Minister K K Shailaja said the stategovernment has also removed 56 areas from the hotspot categoryand test reports of five COVID-19 patients were reportednegative in the state, taking the total number of those curedto 474.

"Three people from Kannur, two from Kasaragod werecured onThursday.As of now, only 25 people are undertreatment in the state," the minister said in a release.

As per the latest medical bulletin, 16,693 areunder observation in the state and 310 are in isolation wardsof various hospitals.

"Till now, 35,171 samples have been sent fortesting.There are no new hotspots in the state.

Meanwhile, we have removed 56 areas from the hotspotcategory.As of now there are 33 hotspots in the state," theminister said.

On Wednesday also, no new cases of COVID-19 werereported from the state.

No new cases were reported in the state on May 1, 3and 4also.

Meanwhile, police said all necessary arrangementshave been made at airports to facilitate the arrival andtransfer of expatriates who will start arriving from tonight. RRT BNWELCOME BNWELCOME
