Tamil Nadu COVID restrictions — what's open and what's shut
The state government has decided to impose additional restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19 virus in the state. In the last 24 hours, the state has seen 14,842 new COVID-19 cases, 9,142 recoveries and 80 deaths. Active coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu now stands at over a lakh.

The state government had recently announced several restrictions, including night curfew, ban on tourists at the hill stations and total lockdown on Sundays with essential services exempted.

All that is open for business

You can order in or take away food from restaurants at specified times. Food delivery from hotels/restaurants between 6 a.m. and 10 am, 12 noon and 3 pm, and 6 pm and 9 pm, according to IANS.

No more than 50 people are allowed to gather at weddings and the maximum number of people allowed at funerals is 25.

Technology services companies like TCS, Infosys, Accenture and others have been ordered to have at least 50% of their employees working from home.

Continuous process industries are allowed to operate. These include units that are manufacturing medicines, sanitation materials, oxygen, and medical devices. Those who are into food processing including food for poultry, pets and animal husbandry are allowed to be open. Textiles and their raw material components, intermediates; units engaged in production of agricultural inputs including fertilisers, agricultural machinery and components can also remain open.

All that will be shut

Vegetable/meat/fish shops, movie theatres, shopping malls and commercial establishments will remain closed.

Golf courses, tennis clubs and sports training academies will remain for shut for everyone except for national and international players who want to train.

If you are going to Tamil Nadu, you need an E-pass. Starting monday, a maximum of three passengers are allowed to travel in taxis. Auto rickshaws can't carry more than two people at a time.
