President Donald Trump gave his third State of the Union speech on Tuesday, but it was Nancy Pelosi who dominated the conversation, sparking an assortment of hashtags and memes on social media.

The morning after Trump's annual address, which began with him denying Pelosi a handshake and ended with her tearing up his speech, the House Speaker was making waves across Twitter with viral hashtags, including #NancytheRipper, #NancyPelosiROCKS, #nancyisabadass, #PelosiTantrum, #PettyPelosi, and #PelosiDisgrace.

Reporters approached Pelosi as she departed Capitol Hill and inquired about why she tore up the document.

Because "it was a manifesto of mistruths," she said.

When asked if she would invite Trump to another State of the Union, Pelosi said, "Hopefully not. I'm expecting another president. Nine months from today."

Some people applauded her gumption.

Others weren't quite as tickled.

Pelosi also stole the show on Tuesday by breaking with congressional tradition by introducing Trump merely as "the president of the United States." In the past, House speakers have introduced the sitting commander-in-chief by saying that they have the "high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the president of the United States."

This isn't the first time Pelosi has shot to viral fame. The internet had some fun with the way she clapped after Trump's State of the Union address in 2019.
