JSW Steel's Production Rises 14% in April

JSW Steel’s crude steel production increased 14% to 9.9 lakh tonnes (LT) in April this year.The firm, which has about 143 LT installed production capacity, had produced 8.67 LT crude steel in April 2013.
Flat products’ production increased 14% to 7.76 LT, compared to 6.8 LT in 2013. Long products' production went up 28% to 1.64 LT from 1.28 LT in 2013.
Long products are primarily used in the construction sector while flat products are used in automotive and industrial segments.
JSW Steel produced 121.7 LT crude steel in FY2013-14 and 31.5 LT in January-March quarter.
