Mexican President says drug kingpin El Chapo has been caught

Drug kingpin Joaquín Guzmán Loera, aka "El Chapo" or "Shorty," has been caught, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said on Twitter on Friday.

Misión cumplida: lo tenemos. Quiero informar a los mexicanos que Joaquín Guzmán Loera ha sido detenido.

The tweet translates to: "Mission accomplished. We have him. I want to let the Mexican people know that Joaquin Guzman Loera has been detained."

El Chapo escaped from a Mexican prison through an underground tunnel over the summer.
