The Indian government said it will bring back Rs 1000 currency notes soon but with improvements.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had scrapped Rs 1000 currency notes, in an effort to clampdown onblack money .
"In the next few months, Rs 1000 notes will also be brought in with a new dimension and design," said Shaktikanta Das, Economic Affairs Secretary today.
The banks re-opened today after a day and people were flocking banks to exchange their old Rs 500 currency notes.
PM Modi had said instead of Rs 1000 notes, Rs 2000 notes will be available in the banks.
