Snapdeal plans to help over 2 lakh sellers grow and scale their business

Snapdeal today launched its SD Advisor program for the set of its 200,000 sellers. The program will increase the level of engagement and hand holding for sellers in the marketplace and will also enable them to grow and scale-up their online businesses with the firm.
Under the SD program, every seller, who is either beginning his journey withSnapdeal or is an established Snapdeal seller, will be facilitated by a personal advisor called the SD advisor. These advisors will understand the nuances of operating online business and utilize the marketplace to establish robust businesses of the seller, and provide holistic support at various stages of their business life-cycle.
Snapdeal co-founder Rohit Bansal, speaking about the initiative said, “Snapdeal’s vision is to enable 1 Million SMBs to do business online within the next three years. The guiding principle behind all seller-enabling initiatives is to identify challenges at every step of a seller’s journey and provide suitable solutions that nurture business growth.”
Interestingly, these SD advisors are given a minimum of fifty man hours of specialised training so that they can capably help sellers to establish and grow their business on Snapdeal.
The media report released by the firm mentioned that “sellers who were a part of the 6-month pilot program already witnessed a 50% faster rate of growth in business volumes vis-à-vis sellers who were not a part of this pilot.”
Vishal Chandha , senior vice president, market development at Snapdeal says this will create value for business as the firm envisions building India’s most impactful digital commerce system. He said, “The SD Advisor Program has been launched to build personalized partnerships with our existing and potential sellers, understand their business and offer customized advice as per business requirements.”
