Stephen Colbert: Why Trump's distrust of US intelligence is 'very strange'

"One little shadow hanging over the inauguration is the whole 'Russia chose our president' thing," Colbert said during his opening monologue on Wednesday's episode of "The Late Show." "Our entire intelligence community says that Russia hacked Clinton's campaign, but Trump doesn't buy it."
In fact, Trump has publicly supported the opinion of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. In a tweet on Wednesday, Trump repeated Assange's statement that "a 14 year old could have hacked" the Clinton campaign.
But Colbert primarily took offense at another tweet by Trump in which he clearly showed his mistrust of the US intelligence agencies' findings on the Russian hacking.
Trump tweeted, "The 'Intelligence' briefing on so-called 'Russian hacking' was delayed until Friday, perhaps more time needed to build a case. Very strange!"
"Yes, I agree, very strange for the future commander-in-chief to use sarcastic quotations about the intelligence agencies he will soon rely on," Colbert said, using air quotes to illustrate his point. "Mr. Trump, you know you're not an outsider anymore shooting spitballs from the sidelines, right? In two weeks you'll be 'president' of the 'United States.'"
