Want to work for Elon Musk?

The richest person in the world said on Wednesday that he's eventually going to find someone else to run Twitter.

"Well, there's an initial burst of activity needed post acquisition to reorganize the company," Musk told lawyers while speaking during a trial over his Tesla pay package. "But then I would reduce my time [commitment] to Twitter, I'd find someone else to run Twitter over time."

Musk has said previously he doesn't really care about the CEO title, though today he's technically CEO at Tesla, Twitter, and SpaceX, although at the latter he's well supported by SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell.

Musk's tenure as "chief twit," as he calls himself, has been chaotic so far. Since closing his acquisition of the social media platform in October, the company has fired around half of its staff, then tried to hire some of those it fired back, and then told remaining staff that they should commit to an "extremely hardcore" schedule or take severance.

He's also put an end to Twitter's work from home policy, threatened the advertisers that Twitter has historically relied on for revenue, teased the possibility of bankruptcy in a staff meeting, and announced he's sleeping at the Twitter HQ.

Much of this "burst of activity" has been narrated by Musk himself via his Twitter feed.

For those feeling fatigued by the non-stop news out of Twitter, there may be some hope: Musk said in the trial that "the fundamental restructuring [of Twitter] will be done at the end of this week."
