New Batmobile for the upcoming movie, The BatmanMatt Reeves/Twitter
The Batman director Matt Reeves shared the first-look of the new Batmobile.
Unlike its predecessors, it looks more like a car than any other Batmobiles in films.
The most striking feature of the new Batmobile is that it’s most undeniably a car.

Gotham’s dark hero is set to return to the big screen next year on June 25 poised as The Batman. In addition to masked vigilante getting an upgraded suit and motorcycle, he’ll also be riding around in an all-new Batmobile.
Director Matt Reeves shared behind the scenes pictures of the redesigned vehicle, and the beast looks nothing like the Batmobiles that have come before it.
Not only does the ramped up model look more realistic but the design team decided to go with a more ‘muscle car’-look than an outright military vehicle or futuristic ride that’s years ahead of its time.
Considering that the upcoming movie featuring Robert Pattisson is a prequel that explores the anti-hero’s early days — it makes sense that the team is going old-school with the most understated Batmobile to date.
It’s cool, but it’s still just a car The new Batmobile is undeniably a car, something that no other Batmobile in films can be accused of. Most predecessors either look like spaceships, tanks or some weird combination of the two.

It’s got fenders, brake lights, a massive engine — the whole package. A far cry from Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan’s Batmobiles. It’s even got a third brake light because that’s somehow going to keep Batman from getting into more accidents.
From the front, the car has a menacing look that keeps with the Batman motif highlighted by the grille on top of the hood.
The only time such a Batmobile has surfaced is in the original 1960s Batman, the TV series starring Adam West or Brian Bolland’s 1988 The Killing Joke comic book.
The other feature that defines Batman more than the Batmobile is his suit. Last month, Reeves shared a screen test of Pattinson in the suit and the caped crusader didn’t look half bad.
The Batman is set to hit theatres on 25 June 2021. It also stars Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Andy Serkis as Batman’s butler — Alfred Pennyworth.
