10 things in tech you need to know today

Good morning! Here's the technology news you need to know to start off your week.

1. Apple has hit back at Spotify after it was accused of using its control of the App Store to hurt the streaming company. A new letter from Apple accuses Spotify of breaking App Store rules.

2. Tesla has once again missed its delivery target. It delivered 14,370 cars in the second quarter of 2016, short of the 17,000 cars the company expected to sell.

3. The man accused of hacking into celebrity iCloud accounts and stealing naked photos has agreed to plead guilty. Edward Majerczyk, 28, is facing up to five years in prison.

4. LinkedIn shopped itself to at least four other companies before selling to Microsoft. Salesforce was one of the companies that was interested.

5. Universal is being sued for allegedly spamming people with text messages for "Warcraft." A class-action lawsuit is in the works.

6. Tech North spent £66,500 of taxpayer money on a 51-page report. The "Digital Powerhouse Report" was commissioned in a bid to "identify the opportunities that exist for the North's digital tech sector."

7. A UK healthcare startup that helps the NHS to find cheap doctors has raised £5.3 million. Network Locum raised the money from BGF Ventures.

8. Eric Schmidt says Brexit is "unlikely" to impact Google's British operations. Google has no immediate plans to reduce the size of its UK operations.

9. A marketing veteran is going to try to grow the tech sector in the North of England. Richard Gregory is the new head of Tech North.

10. Staff at London music startup Crowdmix say they haven't been paid again. Employees were told not to come into the office on Friday.
