Twitter just made a big change to its product team, putting Jeff Seibert in charge of the company's consumer product efforts, according to a Re/code report.

The move means that Senior Vice President Kevin Weil, who is Twitter's head of product, will no longer have day-to-day, hands-on management of the core Twitter product, which has struggled to grow its number of users.

Weil will continue to oversee all products at Twitter. In fact, Seibert will report to him, Recode said. But Weil won't be as involved as before in the core consumer offering.

The reorg marks the latest change at Twitter under interim CEO Jack Dorsey, who expressed his displeasure with Twitter's performance during the most recent earnings call.

Twitter is still searching for a permanent CEO, roughly three months after Dick Costolo announced his resignation. In a separate report on Wednesday, Bloomberg reported that Twitter's CEO headhunting firm has reached out to former Cisco executive Padmasree Warrior and CBS Interactive boss Jim Lanzone about running the company.

Twitter's board will meet on Thursday to discuss the status of the CEO search, Bloomberg said. Pressure is mounting for the company to appoint a permanent leader as executives jump ship, morale suffers, and the company's stock gets pummeled.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
